After getting to bed after 2am, we woke up with very sore heads, but cheered ourselves up by looking through the photos of the night before! We were going to book another night at this powered site but they only took cash and we'd spent all of ours the day before! It had ended up being a very expensive day, so we decided to park up in town and then drive to the DOC site to camp for half the price of where we were.
In town, we decided to try to feed our hangovers so went to a nearby pub for an all day breakfast and pot of tea. There were a lot of people drinking beer who looked, and sounded, like they'd been out all night - probably English and Irish drowning their sorrows! Still not feeling great, we headed to the beach, and then moved to the park where the 'Taste Queenstown' festival was going on, as part of the 'Real New Zealand' festival running alongside the rugby. We sat on the grass and watched some of the performances on stage. There were lots of stalls selling food, but our stomachs were still too delicate to sample any of it!
Feeling a little better, we went to the internet cafe, and I spent an hour and a half catching up with X Factor on Youtube! Later on, we went back to Malbas bar ready to watch the other 2 quater final matches, and were joined again by Nick and Paul, and another couple who we recognised from the campsite and who we briefly chatted to the night before. In the games, Australia beat South Africa, and the All Blacks beat Argentina. We were all hoping for a miraculous Argentina win, but, even though they were winning for about 10 minutes in the first half, it wasn't to be! Let's just hope they get beaten by Australia in the next game!
As soon as the second game finished we all left and we drove to the DOC site and went straight to bed, as we were so tired after our hangover day in Queenstown!
