Go figure on my one day off this week, it rained! And not just a little bit…this was a full on thunderstorm…

Yesterday morning Nicole and I decided to go out for breakfast and then to the beach, at this point it wasn't raining….yet. However, as soon as we got to the beach café, it was a torrential downpour. We ended up staying inside for a few hours, which was nice because I got to do a lot of reading for my classes. Eventually we ended up getting kicked out because the waitress needed our table.

We pulled our towels over our head and waited for the bus….then a DOG (a big one!) came running down the street. I freaked out!! Luckily Nicole isn't scared of dogs so she assured me I would be okay. But seriously, this dog could have torn our faces off. I think I made some sort of eye contact with it (which probably wasn't a good idea), but it just passed by us and kept running all the way down the street. Thank god. I swear in Australia there are no laws around keeping your dog on a leash! I don't mind the little tiny dogs because you can just give them a swift kick…but when your dog looks like it wants to eat me, then we have a bit of a problem haha

After we survived that ordeal….I just wanted to get into my pjs and lounge around…but as soon as I got to my room, the power was out!!! I had left my window open and water was everywhere! All over my desk and bed! So I was convinced my stupidity had lead to an automatic switch off of the circuit…

I went down to the Opp office to find them also sitting in the dark. Phew! It wasn't just my room, it was all the residence buildings….the storm had knocked out all the power lines.

It was out for only an hour, so I managed. I attempted to take a nap. I failed. Miserably.

Anyways, I should get a move on…I have the penguin parade today!
