Where was I Thursday night? Not and at The Nott (for once). I opted not to go out this week and actually work on some homework. I have a paper due next week that I haven't started for my gender studies class. I worked on it after dinner and I'm pretty proud of my first draft. I emailed a copy to my TA just to make sure I'm on the right track…I played the whole "but I'm international!" card…so hopefully she takes pity on me. I have no idea how their grading scale works here, all I know is that I need to get a whole bunch of 'HD's on my transcript ☺

I just got in from my first official field trip for AUS:1060: "Australian Idol"….we took the train downtown and explored the 'Shrine of Remembrance' and the Melbourne Botanical Gardens. Both places were beautiful and the weather was amazing! We took a guided tour through the gardens to learn all about Aboriginal history…this included learning about the plant and animal life in Australia and even hugging a real lemon scented tree! I love this class. Honestly, we do so many interesting things throughout the semester. I'm really glad I enrolled in it….I'm thinking of taking part II next semester.

After our field trip we headed back to Flinders where Nicole, Alyssa, and I indulged in the famous "Lord of the Fries". I got the "Canadian" dish (I'm glad Aussies associate us with poutines haha). I must admit, it was pretty tasty and definitely worth the 8 bucks.

I just got back to my room, cleaned up a bit, and uploaded some new pictures to my blog. I'm exhausted. Buttttt, we're having a BBQ in my courtyard tonight. So pumped!

I also need to pack for Great Ocean Road! Can't wait to go surfing! (FYI- I watched Blue Crush the other night to get me all prepared!)

I'll be gone all weekend, but I'll be sure to take lots of pictures!
