Happiness Is The Road
It rained all night but by the time we got up the cloud had cleared and the sun was out. We really like this caravan park so we decided to stay another night and have a chill out day. We had a very leisurely breakfast. Later on in the day we went for a walk to the beach at Hull Heads which was about two kilometres away. Everywhere was very green here because of all the rainfall. It was along the road but the walk there was good. Hull Heads is where the Hull River meets the ocean. There was a picnic area where the beach meets the river and we were met with a couple of signs warning of the dangers of marine stingers and crocodiles which may be present in the water. Without getting too close to the waters edge we scanned the river mouth for crocs. We thought that we may have seen one in the distance. There was a shape in the water that looked like a crocodiles head. We didn't see the shape move. Was it a croc or not? We'll never know. The sky was clouding over again now and we walked back to the caravan park. By tea time the rain was back and this time it was torrential. We went to sleep to the sound of rain pounding down on the campers roof. We couldn't argue with the fact that this is the wettest town in Australia.
