Heading to port douglas from daintree was another spectacular drive through the rainforest and over the ferry again. Along the way we saw Daintree ice cream factory in the middle of the rainforest! This was really strange, especially as no cows were to be seen at all! When we arrived we hunted for hostels for a bi before finding the best (and cheapest) one just outside the town. This meant we had to drive into town but parking was free so it didn't matter so much. We had a wander around the shop and aboriginal galleries before settling down for fish and chips. After this we went to a really old pub where they do cane toad racing! Cane toads are a plauge in australia when they bought them in for cane toad beetles, not realising how fast they spread! This means they're made into tourist presents.
The cane toad racing was really well set up with a really entertaining host, making inuendoes a lot without any of the children noticing. Sitting next to us were 3 verydrunk women in their 50s. One of them started to flirt with me which was very uncomfortable but made Seumas laugh so so hard! Very embarasing.
We then headed back to the backpackers where we settled in for the night. The next day we only had to be in a place called Karanda by 3 to meet some of Seumas' relatives.
