If ever you are in Lockerbie and need a place to stay you must visit Kirk Loch Caravan & Camping site and ask for Doug. The nicest most generous person in the whole of Scotland (so far - but we only have 15 miles left!) he welcomed us in - pointed us in the direction of the showers and refused to take our money! What a great guy and what a beautiful place. I'm sitting with my feet in the Loch that we are camped beside (pictured) as I type.
Ok - much deserved advertisement break over... What about the day. Another good one I am very pleased to say. Overcast, slightly cold but following wind (you can make your own jokes). We ran 10 mile sections again averaging 2 hours each so we finished in just over 6 hours running time, only taking two 45min breaks. The road and terrain were very kind to us once again so we had few walks until the end of the last section when the road began to roll and we were grateful for it.
It really is very good to be running again even if it is quite uncomfortable - particularly towards the end of sections. (I'm hoping to get some help for the foot soon but no news yet)
We've been out in the country all day so not really seen any sights although what we have seen of Lockerbie is beautiful. Greg had plenty of time to do his tourist thing today visiting all sorts of places - including the birth place of Robert the Bruce.
He also had time to buy presents for both of us - chocolate fingers for me And six bottles of local beer for John. I've already finished my chocolate fingers (yes and I don't care) but John is still looking at the labels on his beers (funny man ; )
Very big day tomorrow completing our first mile of the day we have less than 500 to go and in about 15 miles it's the boarder at Gretna Green - now hands up and put £50 quid in the Cure Parkinson's box all those who thought we wouldn't make it : ) and yes I'm serious !
Today Scotland - tomorrow England - think I'll wear my Saint George socks again - as I did at the start....

Mazzi Can't believe anyone had doubts about the 2 of you finishing what you have started. Has John decided which beer to drink yet. Please tell him if they come home they are not allowed through the front door only in the garage!
Steve Forsdick Don't do anything rash at Gretna Green gents, 3 of you in a van together all this time might have you thinking.... Agree with Maz who thought you would not do this?!
Anne Hi there. We are so impressed with what you are doing. I wish i didn't have to go to school then we'd be able to come up to scotland and support you, it's such a beautiful country, enjoy!! had really hoped to travel to lancashire to see you but there's no way that's going to happen for a number of reasons BUT we will be thinking of you and sending some positive energy to keep you going. FANTASTIC effort!!
