The weather forecast said it would stop raining by the time we started our run at 9.00 this morning and they were 100 percent accurate - it was snowing! So we started our run up the rest of the the Glencoe Pass in a snow storm. Thankfully by the time we reached the open plateau it had stopped, but it was still -1.2c. So began what turned out to be a very hard day. We kept our spirits high by singing songs at the top of our voices (well I did) but session two was still 6 miles up hill and our legs and spirits felt it as we battled against the wind. Yesterday we turned from running NW to running South and today we felt the difference. The last section of the day was down hill most of the way, but it jarred the quads and was quite uncomfortable so it required a different kind of energy. When we saw the red ball in the middle of the road we were glad indeed.
So here we are back in Ardlui where we camped on our way up to John O'Groats. It hardly seems possible - we have now run 240 miles. Tomorrow we run the length of Loch Lomond.
Hoping for a slightly warmer day. We are still wearing 4 layers for every run.

The Chairman Your progress was noted last night at the Club Committee which d*** mentioned above. Everyone sends best wishes and resolved to raise awareness and try to encourage more donations. I passed by Ardlui some years ago on my way up the West Highland Way. Is that rather strange pub (The Drovers?) still in business? Glad to learn you've now seen the Firkin Point as it will enable you to explain it to others! Keep on truckin' as they used to say.
