This last week has been spent in Darwin. We arrived last Monday and quickly set up the van before heading to visit and stay with our great friends Steve and Michelle. They have a nice new home so a proper bed and bathroom was a huge luxury. Tully was more excited by their pool and happily played all afternoon while we caught up. Tuesday saw the long anticipated arrival of gannie and pa. Tully was beyond excited to see them and once again we were pleased to see familiar faces. The next few days we spent doing some tourist activities around Darwin including the Wave Pool, WW2 Oil Tunnels, and watching the arrival of the V8 supercar trucks through town. Mum and Dad then moved from their base in the city, out to the caravan park with us, so our days became lazy and we swam every day and generally relaxed together. Tully has just gone crazy in the pool and his swimming is now far ahead of where he was. We also caught up with some other friends, Kristen and Justin and their 4 kids. They are recent arrivals in Darwin, after they moved from Ballarat earlier in the year. Again Tully was impressed with their pool and had a ball catching up with his old swimming buddies. Yesterday was my birthday, so we had a nice lunch together to celebrate and then Jarrod and I were lucky enough to have a dinner out together on our own. So we say goodbye to mum and dad tonight as they head out of Darwin at midnight. Tomorrow sees us move on too, into Kakadu.
