The flight to Bangkok took all day as we first had to get a ferry to the mainland and then a one hour coach to the airport. The boat to koh tao took ages as it was late and then we had to change in koh phangan, there were guys on the last boat selling diving packages and one said that we would be able to do the padi open water course in the time that we had as lessons started that evening. The night boat was really hot and there was nothing there to cool us down at all. We didn't sleep very well as the beds were hard and too short so our feet stuck out into the aisle. Luckily we arrived late at about 6am rather than 5am, we got a taxi to our hotel where the staff were just opening the doors, it opened at 7am and we got there at 7:02. We woke up on the night train that was ok but not nearly as nice as the one in Vietnam - again we arrived early but as we had actually been to this station to get our train to Cambodia we actually knew we were in the right place.
