The flight to Bangkok took all day as we first had to get a ferry to the mainland and then a one hour coach to the airport. So even though we set off at 8:30am and the flight took only one hour we didn't actually arrive in Bangkok until 5:30pm. After we had a really long taxi journey to our hostel. We were meant to go out in Bangkok and the next day go to aythuthya; the old capital of siam but we were really really ill. Probably one of the sickest we've been before. We grabbed some pad Thai for dinner and then had a walk around the streets at night. Its so touristy here though and there was quite a bit of hassle.
The next day we checked out at the last possible moment still feeling horrible and retreated to get ice creams and things to stay in the air con. We walked back around Khao San road in the daytime and bought some flags of the countries we had been to to add to our other ones. Dan also bought a T-shirt for the beach, today was really not an interesting day on our behalf. We grabbed some dinner and then headed back to the airport super early. The boarder guard who stamped my passport even commented that we were very early. But lucky that we were as all the shops shut at 8:45 as the last flight before ours was at 9:15. Which means we struggled to even buy a water in time, even though our flight wasn't until 00:05. Dan also bought a ridiculously overpriced tie because we couldn't find any today in the shops.
Once we checked into our flight there were two monks also travelling with us and both had iPhones and iPads which is a bit contradictory to the reason of becoming a monk!
