Last night was our first night in an actual pilgrim ´refugio´ (hostel), it was a big open room with 120 bunk beds in it and two showers for each sex! Surprisingly though, the showers weren´t too cold. The lights came on at 6.15 am this morning and we were out the door by 6.45. Day 2 = 27.7km!

Unlike yesterday, today was more forgiving terrain, uphills and downhills all the same, but a much easier day of walking. We started walking in the dark by torch light and light rain for the first two hours. We stopped in Viscarret for fresh baked bread, straight from the oven. We got there just as the bakery opened! I (Liz) was the first to fall casualty to blisters, but hopefully they are under control with all the bandaids and creams. Had lunch today by a really nice roman bridge!

Tonight we are staying in a hostel run by the mayor, so you could expect this means clean everything and nice hot water showers!! We will be in Pamplona tomorrow for two nights and will hopefully get a chance to upload photos. And Stoney, I promise to send through a list of our itinerary.
