Last night after we wrote our entry, we went to a pilgrim´s mass they were holding at a church in Los Arcos (where we were staying) because a woman we have befriended was singing the Ave Maria. What a cool space to get to sing in, the acoutics were amazing! After the mass (which I tried very hard to follow and Gabe was playing with his camera), the priest gave us a special blessing. Pretty much went straight to bed after that.

This morning we were up and on the road by 6.50am, we needed an early start with all the kms to be walked! It went really fast though, we did about 19km of the total distance in 4 hours. The last 8km were the hardest, my body just knew it was so close to being finished and I had to will it to keep going just a little more. I think it was also due to the fact that I knew we are staying in a hotel tonight!! WOOHOO! I´ve never taken such a long shower and then sat in the jacuzzi for almost an hour. Its nice to feel like a normal human again!

Tonight we are going out for wine and tapas, as we are in the capital of La Rioja! We are meeting up with an ozzie couple we met along the way, should be good fun. Tomorrow we are checking out the sights around town. We are going to check back into a refugio tomorrow afternoon (sad to leave luxurious hotel bliss behind) and then will be back on the road on Friday morning. And what a day to go back to - it will be another 29km day!
