The adventure is over. All that remains is getting home as quickly as possible. Had to hang around Geraldton to get the car serviced. The weather became wet & windy & now as I go inland cold as well. Had a free camp on the Murchison River before going into Kalbarri & meeting up with Steve & Yvonne albeit briefly. They are heading off next morning on their way to Kalgoorlie and home. Kalbarri has been spoilt - with it's river gorges, ocean gorges, perfect bay with white sandy beaches etc etc. It is all so accessible that there is no challenge. My travelling companions wimped out & booked into a CP in Denham whereas I took the risk & went direct to the Peron NP, hoping to get a camp site. Got lucky & didn't have to drive out! Knowing the NP would be fully booked we rang the Yardie Creek cp while en route & were able to secure a spot. It's not in Cape Range NP but close by. The Ningaloo Reef which lies close to shore and stretches done to Coral Bay attracts all kinds of sea life as well as masses of tourists. Yvonne went swimming with whale sharks & had a wonderful time. Steve caught a fish! And I took the photo of the Sea Eagle - so I'm happy too! Coral Bay is booked out so...

After a relaxing stay at Millstream NP we headed to Karijini NP with high expectations. The Dales campground was a pleasant surprise as, unlike my previous visit, I was able to hammer pegs in the ground! Over the next 3 days we trekked up, down & around 5 gorges and they were all simply magnificent. Hancock & Weano were slightly abbreviated treks due to high water levels but that's life.
