Met up with S & Y at Port Smith & decided to stay for 2 nights thanks partly to Steve's desire to catch a fish & also to the existence of a 9-hole golf course attached to the cp. The fishing was totally unsuccessful so we played 9 holes of golf for light entertainment. Yvonne came close to decapitating a wallaby & Steve came even closer to decapitating Yvonne. I just played steady golf but the real purpose was to simply have fun where fortunes were not at stake. A good time had by all.
Next stop was 80 Mile Beach with it's superb beaches. Many fishers but nobody seemed to have any fish (unlike Port Smith where others were successful).
Cape Keraudren is a coastal reserve with spectacular scenery & a chance for Steve to land one - sadly he did not! At sunset the mozzies joined ranks with the midges to make life very difficult for everyone. Another opportunity to snap the 'staircase to the moon' didn't work out because the moon didn't behave itself & besides, the clouds blocked it out!
Tomorrow it is Port Hedland for shopping & clothes washing prior to Karijini.

Toby Well well well , can't roll a salty can't catch a fish, oh dear we had better go & have a good old game of (steady) golf. Just got out my old video tapes of ask the Lehman Bros, cos I need a bit of excitement , Julia's fxxxxd & your transfixed by midges & mozzies & some transcendence to the moon , along with other strange individuals who play the didgeridoo . Al I think it's time you started heading south east to the sunny Melb climes of -1 degree mornings. I'm sure you must miss the culture of good food , wines, women , & the intellectual stimuli of JO'C , KS, JG, JS, KW, CHINGA, WILLO, KB(well) , & any other miscreant you can remember, & oh yes me. I know your having fun scrambling into your swag each night, eating bake beans, probably cold because you haven't mastered rubbing two sticks together, but either tell me something exciting or stop annoying me with your drivel that just goes on & on& on & on &on & on & on& on & on.
