Have reached Dampier where iron ore is being loaded onto ships 24 hours a day. It is also where the movie Red Dog was filmed. The Info Centre is crammed full of books, stuffed dogs, RD clothing etc.
First night here 8" of rain fell - putting a dampener on plans to head to Karijini as the access roads were closed - so waited it out here. Roads have reopened so heading off tomorrow.
