Checked into our hotel, The Hotel Continental on the Grand Canal, and went straight out for a walk to soak up the atmosphere!! Had to rug up, as it was 9 degrees, but omitted to take the umbrellas! Buon giorno! Made it to Venice without too much drama, although a 31 hour journey, with our stopover in Dubai! (All we saw there was a dusty skyline from inside the Emirates terminal!). What a day.... Don't know what the temperature ended up at, but it was HOT!!!!! We wandered off this morning and caught the Bus to Piazza Venezia and had a look around at the Museo Centrale del Risorgimento di Roma - a modern history museum in behind the Campidoglio!!!
