Kylie had been reading through the Camps4 book and picked an area, Myall Lakes, as our next stop.There were a few camping options but we thought we'd try Seal Rocks, however on the road there we came across the sign to Neranie campsite.This place was amazing.It was part of the lake but looked like something you would see on the WhitSundays.The water was green/blue and there was beautiful white sand.One look at the water and we decided this was the spot.

We set up camp then headed back to the nearest town to get some beer before heading back and setting up in the water with our chairs, books and beer.The water was shallow for about 100m. We watched an approaching storm - which fortunately did not reach us.The locals all came to this spot for a swim after school.The kids had a ball as the water was warm and not too deep.

I must say we did drink a bit much this day, especially when we added red wine to the mix.It ended up being an early night.

After a bit of rain overnight, the next morning our paradise was gone.The wind was up, the temperature down.We went for a drive down to Seal Rocks, where we saw a pod of dolphins out from the beach, we also checked out the other campsite that we had been heading to - Neranie was much better.

We went back to the campsite where early in the afternoon we were forced indoors as the wind gathered greater momentum.The rain came later and neither died down all night.We woke early the next morning and made a hasty exit from this wonderful site in the short time that the rain had stopped.Water collected in a saucepan we had left out overnight suggests there had been about 30mm of rain.

We weren't sure of our next stop as we had planned another waterside location which we weren't sure the weather was all that good for.In the end we decided to head to Port Macquarie and a powered site. By this time our battery was completely flat and we had no more water in the camper's water tank.
