Stayed for 4 nights at the Moonee Beach caravan park. It had nice facilities and was located on a coastal estuary 10 minutes north of Coffs Harbour. We enjoyed relaxing on the beach and next to the river. The large tidal movements within the estuary made it an interesting place to swim and play. We thought about hiring a canoe to explore the river but in the end decided we were happy to relax on the beach reading with the occasional walk and swim.
Coffs Harbour is a big town with a lovely harbour and on the second day we had a fantastic seafood basket for lunch at the Fish & Chips Co-op. With our bellies extremely full we decided to go for a walk. The harbour connects with Muttonbird Island with a single walking track going up and over the Island. The track is not long but is quite steep on both sides and there was a lovely view on the seaward side of the island.
One night we splurged on a $9.95 dinner (including Schooner) at The Coffs Hotel. We then had a couple of beers there before the Karaoke singing forced a retreat to the Camper Trailer.
