Goodbye to the Kimberleys – Hello to the Pilbra
As we left Broome, we are saying goodbye to the Kimberleys and the beautiful Boab Trees and hello to the Pilbra.
Traveling for the morning on good roads with the outlook, flat and barren for many k's we stopped at the first of many great free camp areas with fantastic facilities for travellers, after morning break we travelled on to a further camp, Stanley Rest Area, 150km south of Broome.
It was 33 degress and very windy, after lunch we decided to have a relaxing afternoon watching a movie.
We exited DABUS in time for happy hour, only to discover Jean and Ted had pulled up in the same rest area, we had a chat with them till it was time to prepare dinner. We had dinner with the neighbours that were parked up next to us, they were heading north and gave us good info on places to go as we travel south.
