We drove into Murray Bridge with the intentions of going to the Montana Zoo, arrived there an hour after it had opened and the car queue was a kilometre out on the road. Up early the next morning as we went to the Barossa Farmers Market, stocked up on local produce and eggs. On our way to Mannum we came across another farmers market at Mt Pleasant, so we stopped there in search of some muesli. At Mannum we walked the main street before getting the ferry across the Murray River, heading towards Murray bridge we came across a lookout overlooking the Murray, so that was our camp for the night.

Surrounding us after leaving Georgetown was massive open paddocks of wheat, we had been driving though wheat country now for a couple of days. The houses in the small rural towns we would pass were all so old and lovely. It was 37 degress, so we pulled in early to the Hamley Bridge Football Grounds and enjoyed a couple of drinks for the afternoon. One the road after a 2 day break, stopped at Bowman Park near Crystal Brook, were we had a look around the historic buildings, would be a great place to camp except for the tree cover prevented solar, easy drive onto Georgetown, free camped at park did the walk of the town ( only pub and general store left open) Dined at the pub, $12 each we enjoyed lovely chicken parma and mango chicken parma with chips and salad, great value.
