We spent a day inland looking at more wildflowers before pulling into the Watheroo rest area near sheep and wheat paddocks.
The following day we went into Cervantes and did the Lobster Shack tour which was very impressive. It is a family owned and operated business that specialises in the elusive Western rock Lobster. The tour started with a video then you go into the processing plant and are walking on walkways above the processing, grading and packing areas. These lobsters are exported live to Japan, China and Dubai. There was 20,000 kg of crayfish under our feet.... Yum.... So needless to say we had to buy one and had it for dinner.
After the tour a light lunch before heading off to The Pinnacles Desert which is a unique and spectacular experience within the Numbing National Park, 200km north of Perth.
"Rising mysteriously from the dune sands are thousands of limestone pillars up to 4m tall; a landscape in eerie contrast to the surrounding heath. Some are jagged, sharp-edged columns rising to a point, other resemble tombstones."
