Had a long lie in this morning then went for a walk half way round the lake we camped beside. Headed up towards Te Anau to do the Doubtful Sound cruise as we couldn't be bothered driving up the Milford road and all the way back. We spoke to the woman in the information and she told us you can only do 2 day cruises on the Doubtful sound so we decided to head up to Milford and do the one day cruise from there. The road up there was a nice drive anyway with heaps of places to stop. We stopped near the end of the road to camp for the night. FLIES AGAIN!!! We had half prepared our dinner when the gas cylinder ran out, being in the middle of no-where we decided to have sandwiches until we got back to Te Anau. Escaping early the next morning so we didn't have to pay for our campsite (which we'd become quite good at) we drove the rest of the way to Milford, thorough some massive tunnels and down some huge hills. The cruise was good and I'm glad we didn't do the 2 day thing as I think I would have gotten bored. We saw some massive waterfalls which the captain drove the front of the boat in to, you could stand at the front and get soaked if you wanted but we decided against it. After the cruise we drove back down the road, stopped at a couple more places we didn't see on the way up. We spotted some Kea birds at one stage, they'd just finished wrecking some bodies car and weren't interested in ours. Back in Te Anau we found a garage that would fill our gas bottle and we headed off to Queenstown.
