We had to be at the Visitor Centre to start the Resource Tour by 10 to 9. After a short DVD we set off in the bus towards Dampier. On the way just opposite the airport we stopped to look at the salt works and our guide Anna gave a talk about how it all worked. We then went on to the jetty area in Dampier to see the iron ore stock piles, trains filled with ore and how it is loaded onto the ships-amazing! We started off the day early as I had to take Gerry out to the golf club to meet David and Julie Burke by 8.15 am. I went for my 3.5 km walk again but a bit concerned about roaming dogs so might have to change course. Went for my walk this morning - 3.5 klms after breakfast. Gerry continued with trying to clean the van. We then decided to take a drive over to Cossack as there was an Art Show on there. Cossack is a small historic town which is now defunct and some of the buildings have been restored. It was once filled with gold prospectors but after 50 years the pearling industry had moved to Broome and gold fields further afield were more attractive so the town closed. Now it...

This morning was set aside for laundry. Luckily I was the only person with this in mind so by 9 am I had four loads pegged out in the lovely sunshine. Expected top today is 28. After a few jobs down the street the laundry was dry by 11 am so a good job done. We had arranged to meet David and Julie Bourke for lunch at the Tambrey Centre where I think Shane worked about 20 odd years ago. Woke early again at sunup - it was quite cool last night but lovely morning and looks like a great day. We said goodbye to neighbours Keith and Christine and drove our final 40 Klm's of dirt road and headed into Karratha. The park is lovely here with nice trees and plenty of room.
