After breakfast etc we headed off into town to the farmers market at the old railway station. I bought some fresh broccoli and a couple of unusual dessert cakes for tonight. They are apples marinated in marmalade and then cooked in some sort of custard powder cake - they look good. We then went to the museum and spent the rest of the morning there including a tour given by a lady there about the shipwrecks including the Batavia. I have bought Peter Fitzsimons talking book on The Batavia to listen to on the way home so it was topical. We drove down around the port and found a place called Barnacles to have lunch. We had a drive along the coast out the southern side of town for a look and then came back to have a look at the cathedral (St. Francis Xavier) . Then we went on to the HMAS Sydney II Memorial which is my photo for today - it is quite amazing and very moving. On the way back to the park we stopped on the foreshore and took a walk on the boardwalk for about 40 minutes. Back to the park for dinner tonight - I'm having chicken stir fry I had in the freezer and Gerry is having devilled sausages. There is a country and western band been playing here all afternoon at the park - I hope they finish soon!
