We set off from Geraldton eastwards towards Mullowa. Along the way very large crops of wheat and canola - a very pretty drive. At Mullowa we went to the visitor centre and completed the John Hawes walk ending at the church he built. He was an amazing man and the story was intriguing about his life. It was told at 50 to 100 intervals on plaques along a path that lead from the visitor centre to the church. He was the priest/architect that completed the cathedral in Geraldton and also numerous other churches and convents throughout the countryside including some in Victoria - Koroit, Lorne and Ballarat. We left there and continued on to the Coalseam Conservation Park. We had our lunch there and had a look around at the lookouts and wildflowers before heading to Mingenew. We set up camp here - a very small township with a pub, bakery, an IGA supermarket and some other small shops etc. We are going to eat at the pub tonight. Looks like we are in for some rain tonight, however it was a glorious warm day today. We think we might visit Dongarah tomorrow only 55 klms to the coast.
