This was the steam train & station used in "The Monarch of the Glenn". It only went for about an hour to Boat of Garten & onto Drumuillie. The stations & countryside were fantastic. We found a B&B not far from town but not for the 1st time I'd wished I'd packed a heater as the host didnt turn the heat on till we complained, some are stingy with the heating. I have got 2 pairs of socks on, 2 pairs of pants, thermal, a thick shirt & a puffy vest & I'm still cold.
I'm waiting in the car for Bob to rummage through some railway stuff that he spied from the train yesterday. And he's gone off to see if he can buy some. While we were there the " Royal Scotsman " came in. I would love to go on that train, but it only goes out for days at a time & cost an arm & a leg.
We're off to the Highlands highest town today " Tomintoul" . Should be nice & fresh.
