I am designated driver today. We have just left Banka Banka station when we come across a dead cow on the side of the road. There is some serious gas in this ones stomach and it looks ready to burst. We wake up to another sunny day of cloudless skies. We realise we haven't had a drop of rain for over 7 weeks. As Victorians this is highly unusual. Mark cooks us a yummy breakfast of fried egg wraps followed by caramelised bananas and yoghurt cooked on the grass in front of the tent. He even has to move the car to give us some shade. We stop in the town before leaving Katherine. It is 10 am and the local market is in full swing. We love a market and it is our lucky day as there is a biltong man! We stock up on biltong and some milk tarts made by the stall holders wife to eat on our journey today. It gets the tick of approval. Mark cannot wait to leave the campsite at Nitmiluk. I take the kids to the pool while Mark finishes the tent pack up.
