Hello from Edith Falls. We arrive around 10:30 and book ourselves into the campground. Emily is asleep so we quickly get to work putting up the tent. It takes a bit of time as we have to put the new poles in. Emily wakes and does her best to assist/slow us down. The tent seems to be staying up so we are off to a good start.
We are super hot and walk the 100 metres to the falls for a swim. The falls are small but pour into a large and stunning lake. Shear cliffs disappear into the water, it is crystal clear and nice and cool. There are fish everywhere and even a small water snake (this sends a few swimmers from the water). It is so refreshing and as we head back to our campsite we are already talking about returning.
We camp in a lovely grassy spot. This campsite has lots of birds and big trees for shade. It has a really good feel about it.
The next day we hike the Leilyn loop track to the upper falls. We intend to leave early but by the time we get organised it is 8:20 and starting to heat up. It is uphill all of the way and we have to scramble over lots of rocks. When we get to the top we are definitely ready for a swim in the gorgeous pool that awaits us. Surprisingly it is quite warm for 9 am. This camping spot just gets better!
William makes friends with Gus who is 5 and in the campsite next to us. They play Lego, run under the sprinklers, go for ice creams and go swimming at the falls. He has great fun. His older brother is very taken with Emily.
Apart from our walk we spend all our other time relaxing and going for numerous swims. We could stay here forever but the food has run out.
The water from the taps is warm. William no longer asks for water but asks for 'ice cold water' of which there is none! You know it is hot when Mark picks to buy a bottle of cold water over an ice cream from the kiosk.
