Here we are at Hervey Bay on the 1st morning of our Qld driving/camping adventure. After months n months of planning initially by Vinny and then by Charlie we are now on our way. The past week in particular has been full of last minute organising n packing! Sadly our dear friends the Kelly's as well as another couple have dropped out but we will still meet up n travel with Anne n Bill Ross for a fair bit of the trip, especially the north of Cairns part. After getting away about 10 o'clock yesterday we had a great run through to Hervey Bay! A picture perfect day for our 1st driving day. Our 1st night was at Torquay Big 4 park, a lovely spot near the beach. After arriving about 4.30 we set up nice n quickly then headed for an explore. We have always loved the 'feel' of Hervey Bay. Was a crystal clear afternoon so we checked out the foreshore on our way to the local pub. Was nice to toast our 1st day with a couple of drinks n a yummy Seafood platter! Charlie watched the Rugby, sadly an all NZ final but a good game nevertheless. We now just having coffee before heading 4 a big walk. Life is starting to slow down....
