What s great little place Mitchell was to visit! Great C/Park n thriving little town. We finally got to have our Hot Springs Spa, very decadent, might have washed off some of the red dust we have accumulated on our trip! We chatted to some lovely people at the Park who are travelling through as well as some iconic locals. One elderly retired farmer local comes for a walk each afternoon n chats to people passing through. He was awesome, had so many 'stories' would have been great to sit around a campfire with him. It would also be great to record his memoirs...we have really enjoyed our brief visit to the Qld outback, Charlie is already planning a future trip we might do at some future stage....A cool wind came up yesterday n last night got very cold overnight! Today after a couple of ph calls n a last drive around Mitchell we are now heading towards Towoomba. Mitchell as well as Amby, Muckadilla, Roma, Drillham, Miles n Dalby that we have passed through this morning although dry these areas look far better than further out west! We are looking forward to visiting Prue n family tonight before heading home tomorrow. We truly have have a lovely trip heading to the Cape n back. It was fun travelling to Cairns via the coastline. Exploring what the Cape has to offer was a real adventure n our final week of heading home through inland Qld has also been really interesting. Our shared time with Anne n Bill was lots of fun (just a shame Vince n Julie couldn't come, the positive is we have lots of advice to share with them 4 when they head off in September all going well) Charlie especially learnt so much with his 4W Driving. We look forward to our next adventure exploring this wonderful country of ours! We r also pleased that our camper n ute have travelled so well with very few minor glitches! A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE all round!!
