After our Croc river adventure we crossed the Daintree Ferry n headed to Cape Tribulation then from there we ventured onto the Bloomfield Track. This was by far the most challenging 4wheel drive experience that Charlie had n he did great( I'm pleased to say!) he drove like a pro with only a couple of really scary parts, one corner where the road was rutted n wavy n he was in 2nd gear. Bill was great on the 2 way radio giving advice regularly about upcoming road conditions or oncoming traffic. It was also amazing how friendly n helpful other people were on the road, if ever we stopped to check on where we were heading or to have a break someone would stop to check if we needed help. We certainly went up hill n down dale n eventually after a little confusion found the Lions Den Hotel! On the way through near an Aboriginal Community we saw an impressive waterfall that had a short walk into it. Lions Den Hotel was most unique, very Aussie venue, you just wish the walls could speak, it certainly would have many many yarns to share!! A few beers n wines n a nice barramundi dinner later we certainly enjoyed our overnight visit! The Camping ground was a mowed paddock out the back that eased down to the river. Ch n I r getting pretty clever at setting up n packing down our camper!
