Much slower days this week, have enjoyed checking out some more of Paris like the D'Orsey Museum & the Museum of Modern Art at the Pompidou building. Other than that we went back to Notre Dame & have wandered lots more back streets including a visit back to Rue de Rosier. We travelled from Brive to Limoges on Friday morning to see the beautiful ceramics showroom. There was some lovely china but a tad heavy, fragile & expensive for our trip home. From Poitiers we caught the THV fast train to Paris. After some downtime we the headed out to our much awaited Moulin Rouge dinner & cabaret. It was all we'd hoped for & more! After a lovely drive through the French countryside past farms with free range ducks & 'blonde' cows until we got to Cahour on the River Lot where we visited a local farmers's market & admired the picturesque riverside. From Avignon we travelled further south past lots of fertile land until reaching the Languedoc region which is steeped in history. Martin, our guide shared many snippets of information about the region. I was keen to see this area after having read Kate Mosse's 'Labyrinth'.
