Temp: 48 degrees average Low and 64 average High with blue sky and sunshine.
Saying for the day: He who dies with the most toys, is nonetheless dead.
What a wonderful, relaxing time we are having: a trip to Bay Front where there are Sights, Sounds, Smells, Shops, and LOTS of people. The fish smells, the shops with all kinds of things for the tourist and the entrepreneurs of Sea Art, from paintings to glass blowing and sand creations. And a lovely Thai restaurant with delicious food and the Thai help bows you to your seat.
We've had some really high winds for several days, the awning has to be in, as well as the Oregon Balloon. These conditions happen the hotter it is just East of the coastal range. 20 miles east averages 30 degrees hotter than Newport. Three days next week it is suppose to be in the 100s, peeking at 106 next thursday. Here just 20 miles away it is to hit 70 which is a unusally high temp for Newport.
Our friend Clay visits several times and has some meals with us, he's full of jokes and stories. He'll be 85 this coming October.
We took a day trip to Florence, Oregon especially for the seafood at Mo's. Everything at that restaurant is delish! Florence is a cool little town on the water with lots of cool little shops.
Saturday we had a fish feast again with friends Clay and Charly: Halibut, Shrimp, and Sea Bass. Mmmm, so blessed to be able to have all of this wonderful seafood! Clay brought us about 5 lbs. of fresh Tuna for another fish feast next week! The fishermen are so sweet to him and yet, he gives it all away to those in the park. He also brought a couple more Dungeness Crabs for Will to enjoy too.
