Time Leaving: 9:10 a.m. Temp: 51 degrees, high temp: 57
Accrued miles to Date:
Saying for the day: Forgive people in your life, even those who are not sorry for their actions. Holding onto your anger hurts you, not them.
Leave Skagway, we will miss this beautiful city, it was such a fun, vibrant place to visit. Pass by US Customs and 10 miles to go to the Canada Customs.
Arrive Canada Customs at 10:30, no problem. Always very nice Customs agents.
Pass by TUTSHI LAKE, a beautiful, calm mirrored lake that seems to go on forever. Wish we could stop for pictures but there is road work and we're following a lead car. We enjoy the beauty of this lake as we pass by.
We see a cute little black bear at the side of the road but he hightails it up the side of the hill when we drive by.
We come to Carcross again on our way back, where we stopped overnight before going on to Skagway. After lots of beautiful views and immense, stunning lakes and mountains, which we will definitely miss, we stop at Yukon RV Park. A busy, busy place. This is near to Teslin, YT.
Arrive at 1:30 pm , now back to 3 hrs. behind y'all.
How long staying: 2 nights
Tuesday, June 20, 2017
Temp: 39 degrees this morning and rain.
We had a rainy, rainy day s o we decided to get some laundry done. We're always glad to do that.
Lots of motorcyclists stop here with their tricked out cycles, or with oldies but goodies; all traveling to Alaska with lots of gear stowed on those bikes. They all seem pretty nice but look a bit weathered and worn. Hats off to them for the long hours on that motorcycle in extreme weather conditions: rain, fog, dust and more dust, snow, and sleet.
With a rainy day all day long, we got some reading done and planned the next leg of our trip.
The rain let up enough and we walked to the little museum right by the restaurant. What a lovely wildlife museum, the taxidermy looks brand new. A great museum, we give it high marks, considering all the ones we've seen.
Tomorrow will be a new and different driving experience for us, a totally different highway than the Alaska Highway. We'll be on the Cassiar Hwy, Rte. 37.
Staying 1 more night. Leaving the Yukon and into British Columbia.
Tomorrow to: Boya Lake, Provincial Park, near Jade city, BC
