We slept in until 9am, had breakfast at the hotel and then got organised and went on walking tour of Copenhagen.
We started out walking past the Tivoli towards the Town Hall and the main shopping strip, Stroget. We walked down Stroget to the town squares Gammeltorv and Nytorv.
We continued on and then turned down Stroget to Hojbro Plads and then on to Kongens Nytorv.
Across the street was the harbour area of Nyhavn lined with cafes and restaurants. We had a look for something for lunch but we didn't find anything we wanted so walked along the harbour to Amalienborg Palace. One of the four palace buildings was under scaffolding for renovations but the other three were able to be photographed.
We kept walking past Fredrik's Kirke, past the Kastellet to the Little Mermaid statue. The statue was tiny and in a not-so-flattering location but it was still surrounded by the most tourists we had seen in Capone hagen on our walk.
We took some pictures and then walked back through the Kastellet and back Stroget for a late lunch after a long morning/afternoon of walking. Returned to the hotel and rested and then walked down to the Fisketorvet shopping centre for some supplies from the supermarket. 15 minute walk both ways. Got back to hotel and as we were so tired we ate at the hotel restaurant from the bar menu then went to bed at 11pm.
