Left Munich at 9.25am and travelled through the rain for 5hrs passing through Salzburg and arriving in Vienna at 2.20pm. Caught a taxi from Vienna Westbahnhof to out hotel, Hotel Harmonie.

We checked in, dropped off our bags and then returned to reception to buy a Vienna Card each which gave us free public transport for 72 hours and discounts at some sights around Vienna.

Caught a tram from near the hotel to Oper stop near the theatres and opera houses. We walked to the Tourist Information Centre via Starbucks for a coffee and cookie. Tourist Information was not very good, hardly any information so we caught the metro back to the hotel.

After a short rest we went out in search of something for dinner. Hotel reception suggested a pub a few streets away for traditional Viennese food. We gave it a try. The pub was called Landsknecht and the food was great and very reasonably priced. After dinner we went back to the hotel for rest and watched France vs Slovenia soccer game on TV.
