Catching our first LA cab to Santa Monica Ocean blvd we stumble across our first hurdle-trying to suss the tipping system, the Drive had a big smile on his face as we went not sure we have the hang of it yet. The hotel is basic but the sight of the bed was a luxury after a good 28 hours of travelling in cramped seats (yes, I know I am small!)

As shattered as we were we taken to a few hours of American TV, Fresh Prince, Friends and THE KARDASHIANS!! :) Staff are kind and friendly and answered all our clueless questions which would be daft to them but essential to us, if you don't ask, you don't know!

Spending two nights in Santa Monica covering at least 13 miles a day of trotting around with jet leg..which we didn't think existed..we have seen the stunning Santa Monica Pier with gymnastics, gyms and joggers everywhere, eaten golden syrup pancakes, seen The Bubba Gump Shrimp and a whole lot of crazy buskers.

On the whole, Santa Monica is a really nice safe, quaint and active place with a great atmosphere. Looking forward to seeing what Beverly Hills has to offer.
