The day has arrived! The big game...
Being really excited we wake up at 7am to head to the stadium early to make a whooole day of it. We were way out by being any of the first there, the tail gate parties already in full swing. These are traditional pre game parties they have from their car boot. These diehard fans do not do it in halves either, with music decks blaring, massive bbq's sizzling, TV's set up, tables full of drinks and all just dancing around wherever, needless to say there was a whole lot of high-fiving and whooping going on.
Thankfully landing seats in the shade of the 30+ heat we get ourselves ready for the game with the obliged hotdog and bucket sized coke. Before kick-off there were parachute teams, cheerleaders, speeches all during a rather strung out yet amusing lead up and not forgetting the national anthem.
The atmosphere of the game was awesome and by the second quarter I even started to understand what was going on! It was pretty full on mind, there were people crying for their teams before it had even started so you can only imagine the rest of the game. Banter was chucked back and forth between teams, sooo many high-fives, it was pretty crazy.
The Chargers pulled out a win with the end score being 36-21, after over a three hour game we left the stadium to make tracks on traffic and undoubtedly the tail parties went on. The whole day was really good fun, could easily get into doing this every weekend game.
