I have finally been given an old laptop by New Hope to expedite me completing the sodding accounts - yes, I am getting bored of number crunching. The only upside is that I may be blogging more frequently.........yay, I hear you all cry! Not that I have much to say, so this may be brief.
My tooth seems to be healed and is giving me no problems, so thank goodness for that. My cough and snottiness linger on.................yawn.
My command of the Khmer language improves daily. OK, maybe command is the wrong word, but I have learnt the essentials: I am very hot, can I have the bill please?, excuse me, no thank you, one more, do you understand?, and the obligatory swear word or two!
Tuesday was Australia Day and Angkor What? Bar had a party to celebrate and so Rosanne and I became honorary Aussies for the evening, complete with fake flag tattoos. I had my first drink for a month and then wondered why it went straight to my head.
Life at New Hope continues without me (boo) while I plough through the mountainous mess that is the backlog of accounts. I'm getting there slowly, but it can be quite demoralising at times. However, now that I'm no longer dog sitting and helping out at the restaurant I'm on a mission to get them up to date asap. Fortunately the accountancy statutes and rules are rather less stringent than in the UK, allowing for some creative guesswork at times.
Hope you are all well...........messages always appreciated!
