I've not been up to too much this week as not been able to get out to the project due to my 'wound'!
Jillian arrived back from another project in the jungle where she's been for a fortnight, which was good as she's another 3 monther and was here when I arrived.
Thursday I visited the Artisans de Angkor where we watched tradition crafts, carvings, pottery, etc.
Thursday night we went to the weekly quiz which is for one of our charity projects. A team called Paddy Power win every week without fail and we've managed a couple of 2nd places. This week there were only 4 in our team and we won.....amazing. Not only did we win, but we won by 8 points! (Thanks dad for your invaluable assistance on the text!!) This is not classed as cheating as everyone else had far more team members than us.
Friday was rice drop day at New Hope, which only happens once a month so Jillian and I decided to go out for an hour just to see what goes on. The families out there are given rice and a few condiments, depending on whether they have outside sponsorship or not. $45 can feed a family of 4 for 1 month. There were so many people and it was definitely organised chaos. I made friends with the most gorgeous little fella who had sores and bleeding from both his ears. Despite this he was laughing whilst I was holding him and I think he'll probably fit in my backpack!!!! I managed to get his mother to take him to the doctor and she has now got some drugs and ear drops for him. Photos to be put on soon.
From there we headed to the airport to meet Rosanne, the mad Dutch girl who went home 3 weeks ago and has now returned for a further 2 months. I'm so pleased she's back and she was really shocked to see me and Jillian as she came out of the airport.
I had finished my course of anti-biotics and so with the 3 of us back together we went out and had a few Friday evening which was just what I needed.
Stitches also came out this week and seems to be healing nicely, so just awaiting results now.
Was up at 0430 this morning to go to the temples, but more about that next time!!
