Just thought I'd do you a quick list of all the strange little things I miss about Blighty. Obviously my wonderful friends and family are first and foremost!So, in no particular order, here goes:

1 - Starbucks.At this time of year you can't go far wrong with an Eggnog latte and a turkey feast Panini, but I'd settle for a grande triple shot skinny vanilla latte.

2 - The Times.My daily read at bedtime and the fabulous Saturday Times which takes all weekend to get through.

3 - My advent calendar.Chocolate of course and white chocolate oranges by Terrys.They should be renamed Sherry's.

4 - Music.I usually have a pretty good idea of new music but over here it's like being in a void and I'm even getting bored of my Ipod!

5 - Cool weather.I dream of being a bit chilly and I'm so jealous of you all having snow.You should try explaining snow to the kids here……….shaved puffy ice is as close as it gets.

6 - Food.Specifically fish fingers, salad cream, dad's roast beef/lamb, parsnips in any form,sausagemeat risotto, macaroni cheese, sugar free Vimto squash, crème brulee, white chocolate, Nando's chicken, normal bananas, all M&S food, toasted crumpets………..OK, I'm drooling, time to stop.

7 - Trashy magazines.There's nothing like a bit of meaningless, mind numbing gossip to switch off to.

8 - Sudoku.The 2 books I brought with me are nearly done…….boo.

9 - TV.Strictly Come Dancing has come and gone without me.Eastenders probably has a completely new cast.I have managed to find a very fuzzy channel which is showing Spooks from the very beginning once a week though.

10 - M&S Underwear.Actually, any underwear will do at the moment as mine is in tatters.

11 - A decent washing machine.All my clothes come back smelling marginally better but far from clean.

12 - A bath.To soak in hot water with bubbles and read my book……..bliss.

13 - Toiletries and beauty products.I just need Boots to open a Siem Reap branch.Sensodyne toothpaste, Mitchum deodorant,Protect & Perfect face cream,anything Clinique, baby wipes, hair products that aren't for black hair and face products that don't contain bleach to whiten your skin.

14 - Shops.Any that don't do clothes just for women under 5 feet and below a size 6!

That said, I still love this place so I should just stop griping!
