In the last couple of days we have seen so much. On Tuesday we spent the day walking between palaces, parks and parliament. We watched the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace and then went to Hyde Park to see Achilles Statue which was made by a distant relative from the cannons used by Lord Nelson's. Then we walked along the Serpentine (which is a lake) and visited the Princess Diana Memorial fountain, where I took my shoes off and walked all around it. Then we went to Kensington Palace and gardens. Then to Westminister Palace which is the England's Parliament House and tried to get into Westminster Abbey but it was closed. We watched the end parade at Horse Guards (which was designed by another relative, architect Vardy). Then it was play time and we jumped on the Tube and went to Kings Cross station and went to Platform 9 3/4. That is where the Harry Potter shop is and I bought myself a hoodie. We had our photos taken there walking through the wall.
Yesterday we went to the Tower of London, it was interesting in different ways. My favourite bit was the White Tower which is right in the middle of the Tower, it as full of armour and weapons from the medieval times. We had to climb a lot of steps again! We got some souvenir coins there, Darcy has Henry VIII and I have Charles I who had his head chopped off. We saw the Crown Jewels which were very gold and had lots of gems stones on them. There was even a royal punch bowl and spoon. There were some staffs, and the Coronation Orb which as pretty amazing and the monarch has to hold it when the crown is put on their head. The structure was built over many years and the stone and bricks were all higgledy piggledy.
After that we caught the tube to Upton Park which is near the West Ham stadium in a pretty rough area and visited the Dr Who shop where Darcy bought some stuff. There was a museum out the back where they had a lot of costumes and props, they even had a K9 and Daleks.
