It was a bit wet today so we chose somewhere which had a roof, so many castle and sites have no roofs! Bolsolver Castle was also on top of a hill and was built by the Cavendish family who had a few other big homes in the area. The Little Tower was like a three story block and was apparently where they came for holidays. There were some amazing pictures painted on the walls and ceilings - off naked ladies, Saints and cherubs. There was a riding house where we got to watch a riding display called Manège which according to mum is the precursor to modern dressage. The riding house is 450 years old and was built by William Cavendish who wrote a famous book about Manège and is known as the father of dressage.
We had lunch in another pub, we are having lots of pub meals, they are everywhere! Then we drove to the little village we are staying in for the next few days, called Monyash. We got to have a home cooked meal which made mum happy and then a quiet night watching some telly.
Hope everyone is having fun at home
