We're going to the zoo...zoo...zoo won't you come too...too...too!
It was an early start today as we got ready for our day out at the zoo...our new 'buds' Danielle and Tom are joining us on our field trip!....I'm sooooo excited! :)
It was a short bus ride and a stroll to the zoo and then the day of fun could begin....we saw monkeys, seals, giraffes and humongous hippos...it was brilliant. The enclosures were pretty open so we got to see the animals up close and personnel.
We crawled through the meerkat tunnels...and saw nothing, the meerkats had been moved so we crawled trough these tunnels filled with excited kids for no reason other then to hurt our knees!
Mark and Tom got chatting to a very excited man about Eels while me and Danielle snuck away...he snuck up on us again while we looked for camouflaged lizards....(don't worry he did work at the zoo...we think!!!).
We got a good tip from an excited kid about checking out the pigs...good tip, it also lead us to find the chickens and rabbits!
We managed to see 2 Kiwi's....the flightless bird not the native people that live here! We saw everything in the zoo and finished off with a Tiger encounter and a quick look around the gift shop.
On the bus ride home I fell asleep...obviously. We headed straight for macca's for dinner as we were starving, it was just what we needed.
We were absolutely exhausted when we got back to the flat but the day wasnt over yet...I still had my work Christmas party and mark had a night in the town planned with Tom, Danielle, Tom and Presha! So as I covered myself in glitter Mark cracked open the beers and then it was on with the wings (the party was angel themed) and off to Degree bar, where we had a corporate challenge, my team came 3rd....whoop, too many glasses of wine and an awkward hug with the CEO!
Meanwhile Mark was getting merrily tipsy at Tom and Danielle's. We met up on my way home and hit K road...it was a bit of a disappointment we ended up in a gay bar where they were having a private party that we accidentally crashed...whoops!
Then ended on a high when we headed back to Queen street and found Margaritas, a bar not the drink, we spent the rest of the night tearing up the dance floor before finally we crash to bed.
