Another bank holiday...gotta love new zealand....and we decide to borrow Arlens van and have a little road trip. We have an early start (this seems to be a running theme of the blog) have a quick shower and pack up the van...first problem, the petrol tank is empty and the petrol stations may be shut today...akward!
Never fear, we found an open station and we are soon on the way until we have to stop for more petrol as Mark thought that $30 would be enough for 7 hours worth of driving!!!! The drive to Hamner was beautiful and I even managed to stay awake for 90% of the journey, we found the camp site that Kym amd Kerry recommended pretty quick and we had every intention of going for a nice long uphill walk but the hot springs just sounded to tempting so we headed straight there instead. We spend a few hours relaxing in the pools (adult only of course) and then had a stroll around the town, it felt like we were in an alpine resort. We still had every intention of going for a walk but then the calling of minature golf grew to strong... I won of course with over 100 points, Mark tells me that this doesn't mean I won it means I should never play again...jealous much??
Still with every intention of going for a walk we headed to the van to drop of our stuff and fell asleep...never mind!!! We went back to the hot springs when we woke up and it was soooo nice at night, there were less kids and the stars were out, we went back into the adult only pools and finished in the 40 degrees sulphur pool...that definaltly warmed us up!!!
For dinner Mark whipped up a chicken tortillini on the gas stove and we washed it down with bottle of red.
