The weather was nice this weekend so Stevie and Danielle organised a day trip to Cornwall Park. It was a bus ride out of the CBD. Before we headed to the park we headed to the farmers market down at Britomart. It was a small market selling food from around the world. By mid morning we arrived at the park. We're going to the zoo...zoo...zoo won't you come too...too...too! It was an early start today as we got ready for our day out at the zoo...our new 'buds' Danielle and Tom are joining us on our field trip!....I'm sooooo excited! :) It was a short bus ride and a stroll to the zoo and then the day of fun could begin....we saw monkeys, seals, giraffes and humongous hippos...it was brilliant. Auckland update. Haven't been up to much, working away. We have had a few nights out drinking which has been a really good laugh with Stevie's work friends. We have made friends with a couple from Manchester. Tom and Danielle. Stevie has started a boot camp with Danielle. We both have finally got trainers to go to our gym. I'm impressed with Stevie's cooking, it's improving all the time. I haven't had to run to the toilet for 5 meals in a row now :)

We arrived Whangarei which is the northernmost city in New Zealand and the regional capital of Northland Region. We visited Whangarei Falls. the falls is 26m high and in the heart Whangarei. It was a beautiful little haven, an oasis. We took the loop walk round the falls which allowed us to experience it both from its top and from its bottom. Cheryl's husband took us to Kawakawa as it is home to the most colourful and most famous public toilets in New Zealand. They were designed by Austrian artist and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser, who lived on the Waikare Inlet east of the Kawakawa from 1975 until his death in 2000.
