I was I'll last night with the S and D bug, I think it was the prawns I had in Taman Negara. They were a little mushy! I wasn't feeling great in the morning and my tummy still wasn't right so Scott went out for some breakfast on his own. I managed to drag myself in the shower and put some clothes on to go out. Still not feeling great but I just kept sipping water and didn't touch any food - just incase! I didn't want a public accident!
We went to KL Sentral on the train to book our train to Singapore and back. we booked it now because we thought it may be a busy time to wait as it's labour day on the 1st may and that's the day we need to travel back to catch our flight to Indonesia on the next day.
Our only problem was that the only train departing Singapore on the 1st May was at midnight, meaning that we wouldn't get into KL until 7am on the 2nd May. (An hour and half before our flight to Indonesia!) so our other option was the bus, we managed to get some information and book the bus from the train station. It cost us £14 more than the train and we have to book a night in Kuala Lumpur now aswell! But there is nothing we can do about it, it's just a pain in the bum!
Scott had some lunch and it made me feel ill just sitting there smelling it.
Afterwards we walked over to the Malaysia history museum, it was really quiet! Only £1 to get in so we took a wonder. It was nice in there, mainly because there was air con and we had sweat pouring from us!
No, it actually was really interesting! I love history. Scott was glued to the space and geography part of the museum about how it all happened with the ice age and bla bla, then I had a running commentary! Haha. He's a super need when it comes to this stuff, it's hilarious!
The reason why Malaysia is full of so many different minorities and religions is due to the trading through the years, starting back to the 10th century they would trek to these places from China and india.
The Portuguese took over and then the Dutch and then we came in and took over, we brought even more diversities of people. 1957 they gained independence so it ment that all of these people with their religions and cultural backgrounds gained residency. To be quite honest it's worked out really well, it's such a peaceful and wonderful country from what we have seen. Different religions living amongst each other and there isn't conflict. It's great! Because of the British reign it's compulsory for everyone to pass English as a subject in school so everyone speaks great English as well, as their second language! So there is some positive to these bad things that happen in the world. Sometimes.
We took the monorail over to the Kl Tower, not before we took a detour around another shopping mall! These places are dangerous! They are at least 8 floors in height, with food shops and cinemas. Everything you need, I mean you could kit the whole house out in these places in one shop! The sofa shop is next to the bed shops and then the tv shop and the flooring shop downstairs, kitchen tools around the corner and house decor GALOUR! Better than next and the range and ikea put together! I mean.. Where are we going wrong!
The Kl Tower was huge! we walked a fair while from the station to the entrance of the tower. The tallest tower in South East Asia did you know! ;) the tallest in Asia we will be going to in Tokyo; the sky tree!
We got a free ride up the tower that is out on for people like us who's feet are burning from walking too much in Flip Flops... Or lazy ass people.
We took the half package and went to the very top, the open part! It was worth it! We were the only people there for a while and we got some cracking views of Kuala Lumpur! The Petronas Towers are next door so some good views from there aswell!
They ushered us inside pretty quickly when the guards took a lap and noticed a thunder cloud closing in. We had to go inside until it passed because we were higher than the cloud so we would have been struck first if there was fork lightning in it!
Thankfully it didn't last long so we could go back out and watch it pass, it went straight over the Petronas Towers, it's cool to be above a cloud and see the difference from below it and above. When you look up at it from the ground they all just look like one big cloud covering the sky.
The thunderstorm held off until about 5pm and luckily we had just got back to the hotel. We had a delightful surprise when we got back to the hotel... Air Asia had only emailed me to tell me that our flight had been cancelled to Indonesia and moved to 2pm on the 2nd May instead of 8.45am. This ment we could have bought the train ticket and not spent the extra money on a bus ticket and hotel the night before. How ANNOYING.
Then, our wifi and television still wasn't working from the night before because of the thunder and lightning storm. So we moved rooms! I wasn't feeling great so this was the last thing i wanted to do!
Scott put me under house arrest and told me to give in and stay in bed whilst he went out for food. I felt sorry for myself and just cried. I hate being ill, I feel useless.
He brought me back some plain crisps which i nibbles on but couldn't face half of the pack. I had a restless night getting to sleep but once I was asleep there was no waking me!
