We went for breakfast and packed ups ready to move practically next door to another hotel for the night. The view was amazing! Looking right out over the sea, the amazingly blue crystal clear sea!
Beth to the rescue to was Scott's smelly hat, which he can't seem to clean himself and then we went down the beach to find a snorkelling trip, we were going to go with the guy from yesterday but he was closed so we went a few shacks down and looked at their boards to see what they had to offer. Every place had the same tours and were all the same price, we were going to do the same trip as yesterday but there was a Rawai island tour, the guy said that these islands that are basically just small mountains in the see with trees on had some incredible coral, the best around the Perhentian.
We took his work for it and went on that trip, it was 11-2.30pm so not all day. There were only three of us going out so we were in a tiny little speedboat, the whippet boat! Phwoar, it soared through that water!
It was really quiet up here, we were just north of the island we were staying at. I'm not sure whether it was because not many people do the trip up here because they mainly want to see turtles and sharks or if it was because the weekend was over and all the locals had gone back home.
First stop was Rawa beach, the coral was indeed very good, we seen loads of fish again. It's nice to just see the coral alive! In Thailand it's dieing, which isn't good considering they are one of the few counties in the world to have the most protected national parks and a lot of them are aquatic parks. They're not taken care of like they should be! Maybe they can't keep up with the amount they have!?
We were seeing more of and bigger fish here!
The second stop was about 2 minute boat ride, Tokong Burung. We stopped on the middle of the sea, he dropped us off and we had to make our way over to the boat. He said that if we were lucky we would see the big Neapolian fish, maybe turtles but doubtful.
Well... Guess how lucky we were!!! We seen three Neapolian fish. Not just you average size fish are they! They're that size you think they may just eat you in one gulp size!! They were at least 3.5ft - 4ft long and they were fat! Scott braved the plunge and got some footage, they were beautiful colour if blue and purple. The go pro video doesn't put them on the scale that they actually are!
Then we were just casually swimming around after that buzz, the French guy that was with us swam over to the boat and just as he left me and Scott spotted a turtle! A god damn turtle! What's the chances!?
We both got some footage, I took the plunge this time and got right up close to him. Close enough that I could nearly touch him! He was spectacular!
He was swimming around us for a while so we managed to get some videos of one another swimming alongside him. It was fab! We were both beaming getting back into the water!! That was one of the best experiences! We were so close to him!
Third stop was Serenggeh, this place had the best coral. Indeed it did! The colours and the different types were awesome! This was clown fish heaven! We seen loads of the little things! I got photo bombed by one of my homies aswell! Little sod, just casually swimming by trying to mind his own business... Looked very smug after he done it.
The last stop was the lighthouse in the middle of the sea, it was deep! I just got right in, not scared. Well I was but I tried to put it at the back of my mind because I wanted to see the fish! Haha. Again the coral was beautiful! I was the last one out, what's gotten into me!?
We went back to the beach, got some lunch and went in the sea to cool down. We went back early to enjoy the scenery on our balcony and out for food this evening. The same restaurant we have been going to for breakfast lunch and dinner the whole time we have been here! Haha. Well it's nice food and there are only really about 4 or 5 on the island and they look the same!
Gutted that this is our last night in paradise, this is the best place we had been so it's going to be hard to top! Bali and the Gili islands have some competition!
