We had a lazy morning and Rog washed the car and then we drove to the Zebra Rock Gallery. The items they have made out of the Zebra rock are amazing but very pricey. They had beautiful animal statues, wine holders, jewellery etc. So we had a look around at the beautiful pieces and then we walked down to the jetty so the kids could feed the catfish. It was great and there were lots of catfish. The owners dog came down at the same time and swam with the catfish whilst we were feeding them, I think he wanted to get in on all the action. We then walked around the workshop and saw a worker busy polishing a piece of rock. We looked at the birds in the avery (cockatoos & corella's) and most of them said hello and some other phrases we couldn't quite understand. They liked to nod their head and one of them kept spinning around. The dog and one of the cockatoos were playing with each other and the cockatoo kept squawking at the dog and poor Bronte was so scared of the dog and wanted to go home. We also saw peacocks roaming around. We had a fresh mango smoothie from their orchard and scones with jam and cream for lunch. The kids had a play in the playground and then we left. It was a really nice morning. We then drove to the Ivanhoe Crossing which was used in the film Australia. It was a really pretty crossing and Rog would have loved to have gone fishing but there are salt water crocs in the area. We continued along the irrigation fields and onto the Sandalwood Factory. We watched part of the DVD on the factory and then looked around the gift store. Josh & Bronte were more interested in filling up a cup of water from the dispenser. We then went to Kellys k*** Lookout which has beautiful views over Kununurra. I did a quick shop in coles and we refuelled the car and headed back to the caravan park around 2:30pm. We went straight to the pool and it was so refreshing (it's 36 degree days) sitting in the pool while the kids splashed around. Josh is getting really good at putting his head under the water now, so fingers crossed he might be interested in swimming lessons again.
As we were sitting in the pool Bronte said 'hello Grandma' and as I turned around there was Mum. It was such a nice surprise (Rog was just walking over to borrow a vacuum cleaner just as a discovery 4 and jayco sterling pulled into the driveway and there were mum and dad so he bought mum over to the pool while dad checked in).
We finally got the kids out of the pool and then headed back to the caravan for a catch-up. Rog vacuumed the car and then we all had a drink. We took the kids to feed the catfish in the caravan park and it was great.
We had a butterflied lamb on the BBQ for dinner and showed mum and dad the frogmouth owls. After dinner we walked over to show them George the freshwater crocodile. Then once the kids were asleep in bed we caught up for a chat.
Mum and Dad are going to spend around 5 days with us before they return to Sydney.
