Day 75 - Lucky Bay, Cape Le Grand
I was up early to watch the sunrise but unfortunately it wasn’t a pretty one.
The kids then excitedly woke Rog up to sing him happy birthday and give him his presents.
We then drove to Frenchman’s Peak and climbed to the summit which is 262 metres high and a 3km return walk. It was a harder walk up then we expected but the views were beautiful so we are glad we persisted. There was also a massive cave which we walked around too. The walk down was much easier and quicker!
We then went back to the caravan for breakfast and Rog spotted a big pod of dolphins in Lucky Bay that we could see from our caravan site.
We then drove around to the next bay which is Thistle Bay and it’s another beautiful beach. We had a little picnic and then Rog & Josh went swimming and bodysurfing while Bronte & I were on shark watch! Then Bronte joined the boys while I went knee deep. We then relaxed on the beach and sat on the rocks while the kids played in the sand.
We then drove back to Lucky Bay and had a very late lunch then the boys went fishing in Lucky Bay. Which ended up being very luck with Rog catching 1x leather jacket, 3x wrasse and a squid and Josh caught 1x wrasse and a whopper of a squid. He was so excited and couldn’t wait to show Bronte & I.
We then enjoyed the squid with some salmon for dinner.
